Cookie,

So you:

-don't remove solids
-Filter using a net tank that flows from top to bottom
-airate from the bottom of the same net tank.

I bought a 29 gph (110LPH) air pump. Is too much air bad in the net tank? If not, I'll reverse my net tank flow, add the air to it and stop removing solids. Then I'll report back with the results.

Cookie,

Are you using anything evenly disperse the air bubbles or just some airs tones and let the netting disperse the air?

Thanks

I'm just using 1 inch air stones.. I found thrm to be the best.. the net disperse it as well as if u put airstone near inlet.. the water flow will help disperse the air as well

But Swed.. what im finding strange is this system is running for a lil more than 2 weeks and the DWC is twice the size of the FT.. I feed 50g of feed per day and in thiz time im getting 60ppm of nitrates and supporting 200 plants atm.. they are also growing great so far without deficiencies.. amazing how a simply design can make a huge difference.. now just to increase efficiency and sell systems xD

I wouldn't want to repeat it ever again :laughing3:

On a more serious note; have you arrived at a conclusion as to which is better for this kind of setup, DWC or media grow bed?

When you say twice the size of fish tank.. That really doesn't matter. What matters is the feed you put in and how effectively you can utilize all the nutrients in that feed through mineralization. What's the m2 of your raft bed?
