Hello all.
I've been browsing this site for info for a while now, so I decided it was time to register.
I've been slowly working on creating a basement system using an IBC tote. The eventual goal is to have both indoor and outdoor systems to grow year round in my Canadian climate.

I have a question to start with, and if I should post it in another section, please let me know.

I wanted to add a sump tank using a 55 gal barrel. However the barrel I have right now I'm unsure of the suitability. It is a green barrel used to hold Bio circle; A de-greaser using bacteria and water to eat away at grease. They say that it is eco-friendly, but I'm not sure if it would be usable in AP.

Here is a link to their info for you.

Thanks!

Welcome! I'm from Ontario as well. I have a system in a greenhouse this is my second year. I had one fish in my tank by winter and it survived. I shut my GB down this winter, but going to try and run my system all winter. Check out my thread below.

Not sure about your barrel.

Hey Kainat! glad to hear from another ontarian. I have seen your system in researching AP in our climate, and I'm extremely jealous. Hope things are going well for this year!

Thanks Curious!

Cheers!
