Aussie - If I may- water will always find a balance, the go is to find level and work off it.
Does that help?

you start off with a datum presumably the center or any point. Which remains the height to workoff (existing slab height eg)one end of the hose is static the other end goes to the next work area to establish level height.

So... everything's (all pole heights) measured off the level (height) of the smaller conduit... ie horizontal pivot point where it joins the vertical pipe???..... right??

Horizontal pipe is primarily to provide a "stiff" level horizontal.... run water tubing out to required postion... keeping level with conduit....

pivot.... repeat for each post...... right??

Or... measure down "set" required distance from horizontal for each required post height???

It doesn't have to be that difficult. find a height on a stick, a wall, fence with a mark, keep the water level to the height by varing the NON static end. Once the water level on the static end is on the mark the other end is the same height.

With you on that C1.... just trying to figure where the reference point was on the vertical pipe... assumed must be pivot point?

Rupert, the main pvc pipe is just a container for the water. The smaller pvc pipe has a valve at the top end. this adjusts the lets you set the hight and take it to the other points.

Thanks Creative1 for your help on the explanation.

Good work AP - you are making me very excited about the greenhouse I will get (one day). Does the land slope from end to end. Just wonderring why footings on one end appear to be raised.
