part of my anguish is Dad's (Henry S Rodgers') books are up on my pages, not to mention all those Tusas years. I just can't deal with it anymore. It like working on cars for me, the thrill is totally gone. I want to move on. It's a Godaddy.com Paid up until 2018. I'll happily pay someone to fix it. PM me for the admin stuff.

Brian, moot point now, but there's no issue with using a saltwater aquarium that has sat. Just check the seams good for damage. The same as any tank. Spoke with my buddy who owned a pet shop for 35 years. He said they did it all the time and never heard of any issues.

Good info. I must have just had 2 friends with extremely bad luck. Which sucks since I have let numerous large tanks pass by because of it.

We're taking a couple weekends off from our Aquaponics build, because we're hosting our 43rd annual Tusas Camp party back in the woods.

We had ten young men working on collecting huge rocks and breaking them on the road. I gotta say it is exhilarating seeing and hearing ten sledge hammers whacking rocks on the road. Thank you guys

Hey Brian, impressive build you have there can't wait to see it with fish and plants in it. When i first joined BYAP and i saw ur profile pic i figured you were a tower climber. Ive done cell tower and terrestrial wireless. Have you looked into the Arduino controls at all? It's probably not needed for yours since its literally right off ur living room but still very interesting things and ties in with your wireless knowledge.

Good luck and looking forward to seeing it run.

looks like it's going to be another overly wet year. With my dad and brother gone I can't keep up with driveway repair. Having the younger men do the heavy lifting was especially nice for me.

I did manage to stay up until almost 12:00PM on Saturday night with the youngens
I don't know if you can see it, but down at the bottom is a fire-ring made from a 1" (2.5cm thick) 36" (91cm) diameter oil pipeline section and it is glowing cherry red
Good times

Hi Brian
I love the group photos. Somehow from here in the UK they seem to capture the image of our view of America. Family friends and neighbours after a hard days work relaxing and enjoying themselves. It aint what you know it;s who you know!
Looks to me like you know all the good folks!

The photo of the pump you posted looks to me like it might have a plastic outlet.
I may be wrong but standard is 4/6 mm. This will fit, again standard aquarium silicone tubing. Now that may suit you.
Reading Ryans back yard thread he used one inch pvc pipe to distribute the air.
Reduces friction losses.
The pump in the photo came with a 10mm metal outlet. Although I had to tap and die it; easy fit into our standard 15mm pipe. Reducer down to 4/6 mm silicone for final delivery into FT or DWC etc.
As I understand it. The piston pumps are more reliable but noisier then the diaphragm ones. Larger pipe allows pump location where the noise is not a problem.
I use an old mouse mat to dampen vibration but others use the pump suspended on rubber bungees etc.

I use the same pump, and it is pretty loud. I have 2, the oldest is almost 2 years old now. Recently replaced one that was about the same. I expect to replace the other soon. The pistons wear down and the only parts you can buy are the rubber diaphragms. If your doing any DWC, make sure you account for that air use also. Also, and offline MT tanks. Seems always better to but a larger pump the smaller.
