I have a slug infestation in a grow bed and would like to know if there is a way of getting rid of them in a hurry other than the beer in a saucer trick. The bed has only got some chives in it and I don't want to plant anything until I solve the problem. The FT has only one trout in at the moment and it's time fot it to become a meal for my wife and barra go in over summer.

Have you tried flooding the grow bed for a few days to drown them? I raise the level of the water of my grow beds when trying to germinate seeds by adding a joiner or reducer to the top of the stand pipe. When you want to drop the level back down just take the joiner back off.
Hope this does the trick.

Check the Multiguard - iron based pellets which work on slaters. I have used it sparingly. My fish are still alive, well most of them. (Just kidding. I have harvested some. )
It can change the water colour though.

+1 on flooding the GB. I found quite a few that were lurking just below the surface of the gravel. They sought refuge above the water, only to be picked off and sent to the depths in the fishtank.

Sorry to drag up an old thread here but my seedlings are being eaten by slugs in pretty sure.
When you flood the growbed, do you take the water level to just above the media?
I done this for half an hour the other day and got a few slugs out. So I should flood for a day or so?
