I am new here and I just wanted to share this video I found of an extremely big and pretty cheap aerator for what it gets done.

2 issues that I see. Main is those pumps continuously. Second is they are internally oil lubricated. Neat idea though.

What's wrong with running continuously? I think you could do the same thing on a pump that is OK for AP

Sorry,I want very clear. Sump pumps are not made tho run continuously. They usually have a disclaimer in the manual starting that can't run continuous. They will if you bypass the float switch, but they won't last too long. "Too long" being relative to a designed continuous duty pump.

I remember this vid being posted some years ago. Ive made a venturi style air pump using a small water pump so you can scale it down to suit your purpose.

I think his idea could be used on a different pump that is suitable. Venturi's I like the idea of but seem inefficient why not just pump straight air into the tank?

venturis are good, but i wouldnt ever set up a seperate pump for one unless i had to.
they are ok to add to the end of a standard line if you can though, certainly doesnt hurt anything.

i would only ever use a home made one that doesnt constrict water flow like bought ones.

I was using a small pump to circulate my Ft water, I added a venturi to double its purpose. Win - win.
