beer strategically placed on ute/truck,next to cigarette pack?....like the private car park, think of the number of GBs that can be positioned in neat rows there

Gravel washing = fun = AP ritual...you can now classify yourself as a true APer :occasion5:

Yes, my wifes [s]favorite[/s] old beat up spagetti strainer is still being used to wash gravel, day 3 now  I feel like I'm paning for gold. but at least I'm down to the last 2 totes.
I've flooded the 2 large beds and let them drain through some white towels as a filter, after all that washing my tank got so cloudy I can't see the bottom

I've finished washing gravel! The tank was so cloudy I decided to change out the water with the rain water I collected from the last storm and now I can see the bottom. Finally I get to put some fish in!

I was going to start the process with some feeder goldfish and bait fish, the tank is 300gal I was thinking about getting like 30 fish total, is that a safe amount?

30 feeders would be fine, Stevo. I started up my 125gal tank with 3 large (4"-6") goldfish.

Then 30 it is :)
I picked up a timer from my local hydroponics shop this afternoon, so I was able to get my pumping cycles running good after playing with the valves a bit. The beds fill in about 10 min and the large drain in about 20, I was able to run all the beds from the 1 pump after all. Right now it is just cycling empty water 15 min on and 1 hour off.
