Hi there Coty83. Great to see you take the plunge. Might be a bit light on for biofiltration with all those fish - I just got a big fright with a nitrite spike after stocking with trout yearlings last weekend. There is lots of good advice on the forum from experienced APers about stocking rates and wet media to mature bodyweight of fish ratios in the 'Oft repeated rules of thumb' thread.

I'd also strengthen the supports on that table of yours. Looking at the picture, I can see it bowing in the middle. If not addressed soon, you will end up with grow media all over the place, and a broken table. Aside from that, great start!! :)

Coty83 I totally get the funds aspect. I've been able to get wood pallets for free off of CL. They are heavy duty (hard to get apart) -- you could utilize those to build bases for your grow beds. I also see lots of free bathtubs, hot tubs, etc. .. on there for free --- those could easily be turned into grow beds. Hope this helps

Close but not the same. search this site for RFF (Radial Flow Filter) they out preform the swirl filters and are just as easy to make.
