Goldfish. They can handle the 34 degree water temperature we get in the winter and the 104 degree water temperature we get in the summer.

even with the cladding and the covers, the water still follows the outside ambient temperatures that much?

It lags behind, but when you have a weeks worth of cold or hot temperatures it eventually catches up.

I added a 'dosing bucket' to the system so that I can safely add chemicals.

Beats my system all to hell. Mixing in the same 5 gallon bucket, checking PH, and dumping into sump. Good idea Jeff.

Good idea Jeff. Do you leave it empty after dosing or let it run to keep the mosquito's from becoming a problem?

Scotty, I think he has a uni in the bottom. So once he shuts off the ball valve that mixes it, it will drain out completely until he needs to dose again?? I need to do a version for my RAS for PH control in the ST. I like that idea- simple, cheap, and effective.

There is a bulkhead fitting in the bottom. I throw a bell siphon over it when I'm done dosing to drain it out. Haven't had a problem with mosquitos yet, but leaving it running may be an option at some point.

Here is a vacuum seeder I built using a dispensing syringe and tip. It certainly speeds up the process of seeding trays compared to previous methods I've been using.
