These little grubs, have taken over one worm farm.. about 15 to 20mm (1/2>3/4") long

Whereas worms seem to leave a fairly nice tailings, these grubs end up with a thick sickening"Soup" that just churns with all the grubs..

I suspect any worms have died..

but the fish like them :thumbright:

BSF larvae. Lucky you. They love worm bins and compost heaps. I had seen them in my compost long before I knew what they were. Now I breed them for chicken feed

..
The odd thing is that they are in a sealed[ish] worm farm..
There are zillions of them but I have never seen an adult, so they must reproduce as just grubs..

Now thinking of making a farm to correctly harvest them.. :-)

The adult flies canl lay eggs around the edges that can fall in , or if it was left with the lid not fully sealed one time they can get in. They are only active in summer where I am (and you are I presume)

Keep an eye out for the adults, you will probably see them around but they don;t tend to bother humans at all.. Heaps of info on farms and harvesting them around the forum, they are great because they self harvest when mature.. :thumbright:
