[align=justify]I have just joined the forum. We have set up a basic system at christmas, but had problems with the sliver perch dying. We are using tank water. The last lot perch (100 fingerlings from QLD),we lost half of them, now they seem to have settled down. All i can say is that this is a big learning curve. We were ready to give up when the last lot perch started dying, but not now, things seem to be coming good. Are perch affected by changes in temp?.

Enough rambling, thanks for a good site.

welcome rachel.

Reply here for now, but i'll move this thread to another section a little later on.

Yep, give us as detail description of your system as possible, along with what you did, when you did it. Include feeding rates.

Silver perch are retty bullet proof fish, but don't let that discourage you. Pity you didn't find us earlier!

Steve

unless you have a pump large enough to suck the buggers up like mine :( ... I like the silvers as they appeared to be a lot hardier than barra when you get them as fingerlings

Hi Rachel, hail a new APer. :flower:

There are a few initiation processes that APers need to do to qualify - starting with fish coup puts you on top of the brag list.

As has been stated, advise us of your setup and we are more than happy to help.......then we will move onto other rituals (gravel washing perhaps  )

Yeah, instead of getting a fish meal, you ended up with fishmeal!
