Just hit your thumb with a hammer; you will soon learn to string the same word together multiple times, I think it's called emphasis.

OK, 34 days to go, already at 3.2 million, who is up for a guess at what the total figure is by the end?

My guess is 8.6 mill...

At the rate at which it has dropped off, i would say they will cap at about 4.5mill.

Yeah, I'm assuming there will be a couple more spurts as they get more media coverage...

I think more media coverage could get them some more $$$$, but i also think when people see that they will be waiting a year or more to get the hive they will think twice.
By the time i decided i should prob waste the cash and get one it would have been Dec 2015, a year wait was enough to make me think 'ill just buy one early next year from a shop/online, when they have it all sorted instead of waiting eagerly".

I've only ever supported two things through a kickstarter, one was some customized permaculture playing cards, that was good, got them in 3-6 months for memory, no problems great product.. The other one was the delta six gun/game controller. They were meant to be produced and shipped out by christmas 2013 about 6 months after it started, coming up to christmas 2014 I complained about the delay and they sent me one but it had a hand made rifle butt, made from bits of wood with foam over it, already falling apart. The note within the box said it was a "specially hand made butt"..Not happy...

The guy who ran the project seemed more interested in spending time and money pushing more marketing of his product than actually getting it produced, most backers are really unhappy.. He also kept adapting it and adding new features blaming delays on the new features. Now many people still haven't received them which would be almost 2 years after supporting it, and he has been sending out a lot of emails in the past couple of weeks saying that people may have to pay extra now for shipping, when shipping was supposed to be included..

I'm totally baffled by this last email he sent out to everyone yesterday...

Quote:
At 6 years old my abstract reasoning on IQ test was so high I was brought in for special testing. I thought my mother was just saying it to make me feel better about my Dyslexia. She recently showed me the notes from the testing facility that showed it was true. I was something of mystery on how my mind worked. I am used to being made fun of for my writing, I am not drunk.

The dream of making this like a Guitar Hero for adults could be still be reached but we have to make money to survive. The 200 k just covered the tooling coding and development. The Web sales and my money made from the Avengers has been keeping us alive. Hating me could be worked to an advantage if the people who have got the new Delta and who loved it said so. Why? You must really like it to say it’s that good after the way you were treated. I don’t care about my rep, its our baby we made together, The Delta. If you think it needs more development write me privately.

I believe the latest Delta, the one shipping all of Feb is damn fun. The Vr is amazing. The Delta is just in the beginning but its looking like the end. In the video Game business something has to be great or it will fail unless we had have tons of money. Such as Microsoft did for the Kinect or the Nintendo did for the 3Ds. We don’t have that luxury. It’s your invention too.

Sales that were supporting us have plummeted since the bad the PR. (It’s my fault.) But now we are on life support. My recent communication under comments section seems to be putting out some of the hate for me and the company. I am shipping out 50 Deltas today to the people who paid for shipping last. We have 800 guns US guns 50 foriegn guns in miami. We have 1500 additional USA and international in China. We have stopped shipping to Miami and out from Miami. If sales would have been stronger I would have paid for Cronus, cases and Shipping. As it turned out it was just enough to get you your guns if you paid for the shipping to you. I am almost dry on foreign guns. I have to pay 10k just to fly 300 foreign ones over then I need to pay the workers. We were making enough selling 2 guns a day on the Website. Now it’s one every other day :(

Thats the whole email.. :dontknow:

Originally 100 grand was going to cover all the tooling coding and development, he managed to double it and get 200 grand from kickstarter, now he says that only just covered costs?

It is buyer, or rather "supporter" beware...

I would like a couple but think I will just wait till when/if they become available. Besides I have too much to do this year (build house, plant another 8000 trees, rebuild AP system and somewhere in their I need to fit in seeding and harvest).

Having a successful crowdfunding campaign is such a gift/responsibtility. Having said that it doesn't take anything away from the Honey Flow guys. They have obviously worked very hard and smart and while they may have gotten lucky with their campaign they did everything they needed to in order to create the environment for them to be lucky in.

If they stuff this up it will be sad for everyone but they have been given a fabulous leg up to get their business off and running. If they can just now follow through then they are well on their way.

I like this idea and would like to buy two 6 frame flow hive boxes one as a second super for a 8 frame langstroth and one to super a top bar hive.

I think I will wait until they perfect their manufacturing systems as I feel it may take a while to iron out all the kinks and they will need feed back from early adopters as to any problems that may arise and need correction. It may be a bit like a new model of car, all the warranty returns an recalls happen during series 1 manufacturing and the series 2 is a better model as a result.

I think the system is perfect for backyard hobby bee keepers because of the no mess no fuss harvest one frame at a time system and a lot of the pre sales will come from people who have not kept bees before and there might be a shortage of bees in early 2016.

If any one wants a easy way to obtain bees that most bee keepers don't want, check out my trap outs on my backyard farming forum page:

viewtopic.php?f=18&t=23141

Bee keepers will readily grab all the swarms in trees on branches that they can get because it is a quick and simple procedure and because there are so many of them they can't be bothered with a trap out.

Only problem is you will need to know some one already keeping bees to get a brood frame but joining a local bee keeping group would help with that.

 sorry here is the link

http://backyardfarming.com.au/phpbb3/vi ... &start=285

You only need brood frames if you want to do a trap out.

If you buy a full flow hive kit you will need to buy a nuc and let the colony build up over time or capture a swarm to put in it.

That method would have a low likelihood of attracting a swarm but you increase you chances buy building a bee trap ( which is different to a trap out) or by baiting the hive.

Details here http://keepingbee.org/bee-trap/

And I suggest you get on some forums and read up on bee keeping well before getting bees.

Good info here : http://bushfarms.com/bees.htm

Good luck :)

cool, thanks for the advice.
I wont be buying one any time soon (they wont be available for one), once i get time ill look into it.
I know its a "no no" in the beekeeper world (humans know better than nature.), but what is the worst that could happen if you let the hive manage itself like any other wild hive? (beyond total hive collapse of coarse)
