Just a note to myself for a foliar spray worth trying out. From Dasboot "I mix the wood vinegar 1-200 in my Foliar applications and have a small hand sprayer with just wood vinegar and water, i used this early days daily to clear the plants of the aphids, from what i can see in my system it is doing an excellent job."

I did get a response finally. It was almost 2 months to get an email. They are certainly underfunded, but I have done things my whole life like that.lol Just takes longer, and you need to work a lot harder.

Just incase it was buried by all the other threads on here and missed. There is another viable option, check out this Arduino controller, by Mr. Chiumanfu.

Dasboot,

Thanks for the update. I am sure I will use it someday. This build was temporarily put on hold until I can go to Ryan's conference. If I can make it better by moving pieces around or adding something. Now is the time.

I ran across this article from Paul at Earthen Group. Something to defiantly ponder.

Totally excited today. I just signed a contract for a new house. That means my little 3000gal backyard system is about to get ALOT bigger. I will have close to 2 acres to place my hobby farm. The rest of the land will be for our house and room for the kids to run around in. Starting to design the new system. I am planning on going dual loop with this one. I will post more later.

Here is a quick purposed sketch of my new proposed fish house. The fish house itself will be a 30ft X 36ft, 9ft tall enclosed carport. This system is not meant to be commercial. Especially since I only have 2 acres to play with. I plan on running several RFF's instead of a drum filter to save money, power, and future repairs.

Fish tanks
3 grow out tanks = 8400gal (31797.46 liters)
7 IBC FTs = 1750gal (6624.47 liters)
Total FT = 10150gal (38421.93 liters)

Filtration
6 IBC RFF = 1500gal (5678.11 liters) 28.16gpm (106.5972 lpm)/ 8.875min retention time
3 IBC Static Caps = 750gal (2839.06 liters)
4 IBC MBBR = 1000gal ( 3785.41 liters)

All the solid waste will be flushed to a mineralization loop. If anyone sees anything obviously wrong with this let me know.

Still working out the routing for the piping. Although I plan to bury it in the floor to keep things tidy. Along with using the ground like a thermal battery, to minimize temp swings. Does anyone who currently runs a enclosed fish house see the need to insulate it. Especially since I live in central FL.

I will have to wait until the final survey is done, to be sure. But I do not believe that there is over a 2 foot drop over the entire 2 acres in my new backyard that I intend to use. Meaning with some proper planning. I should be able to keep the head height of the system to under 6 feet (2 meters). Because of this I was looking at running dual Laguna pond pumps.

How will you keep the pipes clean if they are burried in the ground?
