Update on the fried egg, it hasn't changed since the above photo was taken, the cotton wool may be too wet or it could be a lack of sunlight, or both, I'm only getting about two hours of winter sunlight on the DWC beds at the moment :dontknow: I'll leave it in there another week and if there's no growth I'll just pull it out. Might try an absorbent paper next and try to have it so it only barely wets the seed..

Late update, really late, the stainless wool idea worked to a point, but after rooting the seed died from being wet too much. I have now made my DWC a flood and drain DWC and have had pretty good results so far but not with everything. Herbs seem to like the F&D DWC and I am getting pea seeds to take and sprout. I will post photos in the next two weeks to show if the sprouts continue to grow ok.

Photos taken today... of the eight pea seeds I put into the net pots three have come up, I'll wait a couple more days for the others to sprout, if they don't come up I might empty the net pots to see if they had started or not.

You most probably know this but with pea seeds put a couple of small nicks in the hard shell then soak them for 24 hours, more germinate and quicker.

I can't get my peas(snap) to no much. They sprout, put out a few delicious pods, then just sit there. Everything else is going crazy..a jungle- but my peas are sad. Camel- nice looking set up mate.

Thanks coach, I have never had much luck with peas before neither, same scenario as yours but I keep hoping it will just happen. My tomatoes this year were great whereas last year they were a joke, don't know why but at least I'm having some success now.

Growth of one of the Pea seedlings in the flood and drain DWC three days later, looks good but the others still haven't come up so I might reseed those pots using dasboots' info

I sent a pm about it. It doesn't look like they were links, maybe we can get them back. I asked Joel about it so we'll see.

They are well and truly lost - Doesn't appear that we'll be able to locate the images to this thread since there is no link of any kind to backtrack them onto the server with or an external website if that's where they came from. Best bet would be to contact HairyCamel and see if he has some more pics he can post :dontknow: .
