There's always a risk of introducing a disease to your system when you add new life, but I'd take the risk if I could eat more more marron.

They will escape, so you need to add a lid, and protect your hoses, and wires (apparently).

I was thinking of protecting my stuff with a large diameter PVC pipe with the pump and air (venturi) inside. Large enough so they cant get a grip on it.

They can also pierce electrical cords on pumps leading to tripping out power..
