Interesting as I had not heard that new concrete gives off carcinogens. Too late now.

I also concreted the base of my RFF, i then coated in sikaflex to try to prevent PH change and chemical leaching.

Johnny5- I wouldn't worry. According to the MSDS, no problems.

Mixed up 100 lbs of concrete today. It's about 1/2 full. Will add some Bonsal and then add another 100lbs and top off with a coat off some type of sealer. All drains are done. Waiting on a couple of knife valves that were supposed to come with the regen air motor and other air diffuser parts, but they were no shows. The regen blower dims all the lights when it starts, but once running settles in nicely. We're going to mount it just under the trusses and build a small box around it to help with the noise. Using a 3" main line, then reducing from there. The IBC's for the MBBR and shade netting are in place and partially plumbed. We could put water in the 6 juvi tanks and 6 fry tanks anytime. Try and get some new pics. RFF's are almost complete, just need to make the skimmers. Thinking about the table saw and a paneling blade and using 2 90's to keep things straight. Hopefully that will work.

Not too bothered by the concrete as there are allays other things to worry about. Sounds like you made a good start.
