Hey G'Day FF! thanks mate, our little grape was inspired by your old greenhouse system's huge grape!

I have made sure that there is an abundance of DO in their tank - I am running 4 airstones & another pump which is just splashing water back into their tank to help keep them going as long aspossible

Hi team41, sorry, missed your post! Our systems boarder the neighbours fences on either side, and we try very hard to keep the systems running quietly, we have good neighbours on both sides. It has been quite a challenge to aerate quietly! Our shire here even has time limits on pond pump operation! So splashing water after hours is not on.

HI froggo, I missed your post too, we rent here, and whilst our landlady supports our system and the build of the new big one, there are limits, i would love that kind of flexibility, digging in would be fantastic! Open a swathe of whole new possibilities!!

...

Well, Trout season is almost over for us this year, and it has been pretty good.
There will probably be two more harvests after this one, one this Friday and the rest who survive the coming hot weather period forecast for next week.

The highest we had temps at were 24DegC with no loses, with lows of 10DegC

The biggest (thus far) we took was 510g and it was a brown trout, which tended to out grow the rainbows very quickly. The average weight for us was around 475-490g.

It is going to be a quiet 4 months before we stock again!

Maybe i should re-visit Silvers again...

Safe New Year everyone.

Nicely done!

I'm still impressed at your passionfruit. I put in another plant to see if I can get it to grow as well as yours.

Hi Mate, Cheers,

Go for it, the bush itself isn't that large, but it is trailing out left and right.

It has been on two years i think, the top photo dates to 13 Sept 13. You can just see it on the very very left of the shot there.

The rest are from this morning.

I can't find the tag even to let you know what type it is.

Are you going DWC or media with it? Let me know how you go with it.

(oh and the grape is that stick in the first bin closest to you in the centre row!)

From the other side
I had to try and keep the grape and the passion fruit separate, then keep them both away from the rhubarb

I've got it in the media bed, I though the dwc wouldn't work well long term.

The new passionfruit seems to be going well, putting out new shoots (it was in the discounted items part, looked sad).

you're right mate, i agree, i think it would have eventually been way to heavy for the raft.
the stem/trunk itself is only 1/2in in diameter, but you can see roots pressing against the sides of the tub.
Have you co-planted with it?
We had Kale in with ours for a while which seemed to give it something to compete with.
But with the kale all gone its has the tub to itself.

Hi all,

So it is all chugging along pretty well at the moment,
We had to swap out the filter barrels after the swirl filter split last week, and took the opportunity to tidy up a bit, it went off without a hitch which was nice.

Other than that, the plants are doing all things planty...

the fish are doing all things fishy...
6 trout to go,
Which reminds me, The Silvers and Cod we got from Mario at Macedon Native Fish Farm are fantastic, no issues whatsoever...Definitely recommend them.

Hi Porter

That garden is looking great

How big are your yabbies in 12 months?
Mine from early December are about 25mm now and have another lot just hatched but not dropped yet
