Ah!... I just looked up your "Litoria moorei"... They are the standard run-of-the-mill frogs we all get in our backyard in Perth and the SW right?... So these are the Motorbike frog???... I've had them mistaken all this time. You shouldn't have any trouble finding a few of them... but out of curiosity, how do you tell the blokes from the sheilas?

I thought the motorbike frog was the little rotund dark brown guy that burrows and makes a god awful long drawn out noise that sounds like a sick cow. Years ago we a couple of those little fat guys in the front yard and it took me months to figure out the noise we were hearing every night wasn't actually cows off in the distance bellowing all night (we had farms nearby).

Good question Mr Damage, how indeed? the males do the calling I guess but if they are just sitting around it would be difficult to pick them apart.

Woodvale let you catch as many tadpoles as you want and just charge $3 for the bag and oxygen

I can put up with the noise, they do such a good job at getting rid of your bugs that I would not have believed until I got some. The ferel cats used to kill them but now I have a dog that keeps them out of the yard.Slugs ,slaters earwigs and cockroachs have all disappeared.

Mr Damage the little burrowing frog you describe is the moaning frog -

Noisy little buggers who love to make heaps of noise outside your bedroom when you're trying to sleep. I don't mind them though and quite like the noise
