Sorry I'm not allowed any more AP gear unfortunately.
I am interested about your pineapples though, I have put some tops in my sys and was wondering how long it takes to get fruit..
Good luck with the sale.

Thanks skeggley. They've probably been in there around two years. They did nothing for so long and have just started growing the fruit in the last month or two.

Wow nice system, and a good price too. Unfortunately I too am on an AP-buying ban at the moment.

Just adding some more info to the original post...

Complete System: $1 000.

Approximately 4 years old. Still operational. Around $1 800 - $2 000 at Byap; same set up as the Courtyard system http://backyardaquaponicsshop.com/shop/ ... d-system/; just has a home made stand but includes an overflow tank and tank cover...

Now includes Backyard Aquaponics Manual, CD Roms and Magazine issues 1- 5 (Joel Malcolm, Former BYAP Jandakot owner); Price new $100. Complete system and manual still $1000

No need or changeover as Perch is an all year round fish, but you could still do Barramundi/Trout by adding a heater and eat the Perch. The # and size of Perch is approximate, happy to adjust price if there is a big difference (started with 40 2-3 years ago and have only eaten 2, lost a few also).

This system has loved growing lettuce, spinach, tomato, garlic (very potent), capsicum, zuchini, pumpkin and spring onion.

We've had success with root vegetables too and we have pineapples on their way now. Asparagus too. Recommend not planting parsley as it went crazy.

We've used Dipel and planted marigold for pest control.

The manual sets out everything needed to make and keep a system and there's a very helpful forum available too.

Or combine with the following brand new, never used items for $1200 total (see other post in this section)
6 x 50 litre Expanded Clay balls (bagged) Price new $40 each
4 x 44l food grade blue barrels Price new $45 each
4 x 44l food grade blue barrel halfs Price new $22.50 each
Cost $600

The system didn't go so I'm taking it as a sign I need to take it to my new place in Kelmscott. Will compliment the existing fruit trees and soon to be chooks nicely...
