i have done some research could it simply be that tomatoes don't like setting fruit over 30c?

My tomatoes seem to set happily when it's hot.

The shade cloth looks pretty thick, and the walls to either side look like they'll block a bit of light.

Pictures make it easier to tell.

Hand pollinating the plants can help too, to see if it's a bee thing.

Could it be a nutrient issue? As long as daytime temps are above 25, tomatoes will set fruit

High temps and high humidity can stop them from pollinating, but if they are pollinating and setting fruit which then withers and/or falls off while still small then it's more likely to be a nutrient issue.

I believe excessive nitrogen can cause this effect. I had heard this and kind of poo pooed it one year in a raised box garden bed that I fertilized...well I had the most beautiful giant tomato plant with almost no fruit. To the best I could determine I was having lush growth do to forcing it with nitrogen...have had to learn other lessons like too warm for flowers to set...etc....seems I often have to learn by experience. Good luck in figuring your particular situation.

I modified my shade cover, dropped my Nitrate level down and to increase light levels more i pruned the plants quite heavily so as to get the light through the plant, finally i gave them a couple of sprays with MKP,yes i know thats quite a list but they started fruiting a lot better and still are.
