I found these pop up in my veggie garden, I reckon they may have come in the soil from the veggies I bought from bunnings and planted.
Anyone know what they might be

They look pretty tasty but I've read that there is a very similar looking mushroom that is dangerous

I don't know aussie shrooms, but where I am, there is a most deadly amanita (deadly/destroying angel, or deathcap, Amanita Phalloides/Virosa or other similar variations.) that looks very much like that. Also a couple good edibles, and some bland to unpleasant ones. You NEED a local expert to show you how to ID local mushrooms, and especially to rule out local toxics.

I have them growing my my yard too, the chooks won't eat them so I certainly won't

can you post a pic of the gills on the underside, and what do they smell like?

If you die after eating them can you get somebody to let us know pls

In your photo of the gills, those appear to have a bulb (volva) at the base. If so that would make them almost certainly Amanita spp. and most likely toxic, and likely though not necesarrily deadly.

Jaymie, a man who makes his name travelling the world in search of new./noteworthy mushies told me that no mushroom known will kill you if you don't swallow it. It might make you high/make you sick/make you see god, rainbows, unicorns/make you wish you were dead, but the fatal toxins apparently need to be swallowed. For heavens's sake don't take my word for this, I could be proven wrong someday, but it does supplement your statement. Also, I have now tasted quite a few varieties that i would not have before, and can state that if someone else hasn't already told you that any given mushroom tastes good, it probably doesn't!
