Yesterday, while walking around one of the big box stores, I got an alert on my phone that a snow storm was coming in so I seized the opportunity to get some items to make a little tabletop system. 2 planter boxes, a little submersible pump, some ss screws, washers, nylon washers and wing nuts, grommets, tubing and $30 later I was good to go.
I already had a big bag of hydroton and pvc at home.
20 minutes later on the snow day I had a bato bucket style constant flow drip irrigation tabletop aquaponics system.
I'll throw 3 or 4 goldfish in there in about a week or so. half of the hydroton is from my main system so it should cycle much quicker right?

Yeah it will cycle faster, even faster if your water was from your other system as well.
