I am going to get some Seasol.
I am also going to order some of Tui Garden pest control for the caterpillars and the gnats.
But I need to know if you guys think this is from a deficiency and if so - which one? These area tomato and a piece of the plant.
Thanks!

Hi MB, I don't suppose you could take some clearer photos?

It's hard to tell.

Looks like pests or disease to me though, very rough guess from the photos though.

The tomato leafs are starting to turn purple at the base of the leaf as you can see by the photos.
The tomatoes are getting little brown spots and also Splitting badly. I attribute this to the cold. But not sure if its related or not. Everything else is good. Lettuce is growing like out of this world. Kale is amazing. Bell Peppers are still producing perfect peppers.
However i do have these gnats. little gnats. like hundreds hovering over any water they can.
Another issue Im sure. We are going to get some sea weed. Working on that.
Thank you for all your help.
Marybeth

Purpling of the leaves and stems can be a sign of Phosphorous deficiency, splitting can be temperature related. But it does look like something else is going on, disease wise or similar. What it could be though I don't know, sorry.

Good Guess Earthbound but I am pretty sure thats not it. Because the Blith looks like its dead. These are just turning purple. Growing and alive but still turning purple.

I am pretty sure that my problem is mostly that they are lacking in calcium and Phosphorous. Going to introduce some Seaweed products. Thank you all for your help.
I did trim all the tomato plants back for the winter. They are better.
now I am working on also getting rid of the Fungus Gnats! GERR.
I really appreciate the help I get from this group!
Sincerely! MB
