That make sense!! That is why the seedlings were leaning towards the light and they were kinda tall!!

But I'm a bit worried that the pebbles in direct sunlight will cook up the seedlings.

I will remove the plastic first thing and see what happens.

Thanks man!

I'm only making this up so I could be off the mark and am happy to be corrected.
There's a chance that the green sheet could be blocking a lot of the red and blue portions of light that the plants use.
If heat is an issue and if it's an option for you, shadecloth would probably protect the plants better without blocking so much of the red and blue.

I'll try removing the plastic first since the temp maxes out at 36C in my geography.

Okay, removed the plastic cover.

One question, my lettuce are already very tall is it too late? should I start over planting them?

Give them some time to recover, see what happens. Or just throw around some lettuce seed, and have a microgreen bed.

I think I will have to replant the seeds, the seedling are much too tall already and are leaning almost horizontal.

the light spectrum appears better. I see you also switched to soil filled pots, or are these the plants you said were outside?

I have a cabbage and parsley nursery which is not in a well lit spot, so I transferred it near the GBs.

The soil filled pots were an experiment. :) pots were filled with soil at the top and gravel at the base, I wanted to make it modular so I can transfer between GBs.

Forgot to mention, I started growing duck weed to feed my fishes in the future. I got a few duck weeds about a palm full, trying to make them multiply.

Throw it out in the sun! (Phil based too)

My lettuces (imported from Netherlands) are doing fine in the full sun

All i'm scared of is brown-outs and extensive heat, they'll fry in less than a day i guess. So far i have been lucky.

You might wanna provide small shade as mentioned before by netting. Or a seethrough clear roof to keep out the rain.
Most importantly you need to keep your fishtank in the shade. Temperature on the leaves doesn't matter that much root temperatures do. Keep your water temp and flow constant and they'll do fine.

Drop your PH! 7.8 is way to high. Slowly drop it by a cap full (or half) and slowly mix capfulls over accumulated days or weeks..

(hydrochloric acid is available in the philippines, you do need to register your business and get a special PNP permit for aqcuiring it, due to the use of it in manufacturing shabu (meth amphetamines) )
I personally use phosphoric acid i bought in a random pharmacy in cebu. Although a proffesional grower dissadviced me recently for using it due to the high probability of it containing contaminants..

Cool! I thought I was the only one here in the forum!

True, power outages and heat are the most common hindrance to us that is why I wanted to convert to expanded clay instead of pebbles or gravel. Are you on expanded clay medium?

I will install a net this morning to prevent the plants from frying, I observed them during noon and it seems that they look wilted.

Is it safe to directly pour acid into the tank? What about muriatic acid will it work?

although i haven't used it.. They say muriatic acid can be used.

Don't pour it straight into the tank. I personally take a big bucket fill it up and drop acid in the bucket and slowly mix it back in.
Too much acid in one go will definitely kill all fish. Just mix it up with tiny amounts and lower it over the amount of days.

I'm using a 'regular' rock, a black/gray type. Image (similar to this)
In Cebu it was the standard rock I could buy. Down south I had to get it hauled out here. Usually the rock sold here is all limestone and not usable.

The expanded clay or shale looks great, but price wise I just rather go with river rock or the 3quarter inch gravel.

So I went on and try to lower down my ph from 7.8 to 7.0 and decided to go with lime!

I added 4 teaspoon of lime on my 2000L fish tank this yesterday afternoon. Let's see what happens in the next three days!
