Since Koi need very clean water. Their owners filtration systems have to be on par or even slightly overkill for what we truly need in Aquaponics. As we generally have a media filled GB or 2 to finish polishing the water that they don't.
I see now, thank you this helps a lot

Swede,

I get your point. Especially if someone was only using the MBs to try and polish the water. But after it has already ran through a mechanical filter to take out most of the solids (sieve, shade cloth). Any ample sized MB should be able to trap the rest of the fines. Especially if running CF like I intend to. Thus enable the water leaving it to be diverted to a DWC.

Easy enough to test. Build it, put a fine mesh 100 microns and see how fast it clogs [WINKING FACE]

Just an update. The 2 bulkheads I was waiting on to complete the DWC arrived today. Still trying to decide on 2 things right now. 1 Greenhouse film, should I try greenhouse film seaming tape, on the current film. Or bite the bullet buy new film for the current GH of the proper width this time. Conveniently leaving the film I currently have for a future expansion project. :D

The GH seam tape works well. Your choice, but it is strong and will last all season. Clean poly with alcohol and dry good first.

Coach,

Is there a local distributor that you know of? Or do I have to order online as I have not seen it in a big box store.

BWI carries it. I'm not sure what their minimum order is? I think the last time I ordered a role, it was around 6 bucks.

Also I almost forgot to mention. I picked up my first 55gal FT for hospital/breeding purposes. Along with 2 tubs to be able to start my worm farm. So I can make good fertilizer out of the table scraps and lawn clippings. Got a hold of Jim's worm farm and have 2000 red wigglers on the way. Hoping for a good tax return so I can get this build done. Although I am starting to believe there will always be some kind of addition going on, untilll I run out of room.

Coach,

Thanks for the first link. The second I take was a joke. As you know I originally used Gorilla tape, and it failed
