I'm aiming in the long term to have two tanks, I figure in the winter I'll let the SP hibernate and grow trout out during winter :)

Both the Trout and SP live in the same tank and we use the second tank for the fingerlings so I can get a start on the next batch.

Not sure a bout Carp as I have not tried it.

How do you go about fishing out the trout without stressing the SP?

I lower the water down to 1/3 then fish out what I need. Still need to find a better way.

Don't try carp!!!! Sorry, my bad joke - carp are disgusting, and illegal! They're smelly and only good as feeders for the barra!

Hi everyone, I am another aquaponics enthusiast in Adelaide (Campbelltown). I have not written anything for three years, but i have been continuing. My old entries are still there. I hope to update on my system.
Is it still possible to join joint purchasing of fish?

Some updates since three years ago. I worked on expansion of my system only now and then when I had time. But the net change is substancial. It has to be compared to the state three years ago. The most notable is shelves along the fence. Then made a deck.

My pond and aquaponic garden are a couple of meters away from living room seen through a long glass wall meant to be an extension of the living room.

A question about mixing fish.
I curretlt have goldfish with silver perch.
I bought a grown up silver perch but most of them died.

From what Narrabri fish farm offers, I am now considering getting Murry cod, and perhaps silver perch to put together with goldfish.
While they are small, they should be ok?
What do you think?
