Quick update from today.

Whipped up an air manifold for the pump today. Much easier to adjust the air to each stone, compared to the manifold that was supplied(no taps)

Tomatoes going gangbusters. Plenty of flowers and fruit.

Water tests.

Temp 22c
pH 6.22, added a tablespoon of hydrated lime and a tablespoon of dolomite lime.
Dissolved oxygen 8.0mg/L or 91%
Ammonia zero
Nitrites zero
Nitrates 100+

Trout seem to be coping with the increase in water temperature so far. Not gasping at the surface, YET!

Nice one Sam. Have you ever thought of hanging your air pump from a stap to try and damp the vibration? I think I saw it on Charlie's thread some time ago and it looked like a good idea.

Nice set up and growth. :D

Regards, Martin.

Lol. Cool. Just an idea as it looked like the air pump was sitting on the edge of the fish tank so the vibrations might not be that welcome but I could not be sure from the pic.

Lots of Passion Fruit growing, but showing some deficiencies. Have added some Epsom Salts, Dolomite Lime, and Hydrated Lime. What should I foliar spray with?

Seems to be getting better, with the newest growth looking more green.

Yeah, it's on the edge of the FT, i thought the fish might like a nice massage. :D

Do others think i should move it, or suspend it?

A few questions.

Is there anyway to stop the solids in the FT getting stirred up when the aerator is going hard?

My FT has always been crystal clear with absolutely no solids on the bottom, but since adding the air stones I have solids building up on the bottom near the stones and throughout the water.

When I switch off the air for a few days it clears up.

BTW, I'm running timed flood and drain, 1/2hr on 1/2hr off. Could this be the cause, if it was running constant flow would this help the issue?

Yep, mint sure does take over. Growing in my neglected 'wheelie bin' system. Powered by a pair of big yabbies.

Looking good.

It might not be a bad thing with the solids getting stirred up. Give it a while and they should make it through the system, rather than the bottom of the FT.

If you place the air stone close to your slo the flow will bring them within reach of the slo to remove them from the fish tank ,may take a little bit of experimenting for the best place but it should help. With the airstone in close proximity you could have the benefit of a bubble stream rising up the slo, could improve its efficiency and remove the solids. Excuse me if you have already tried this.
