Thanks bcasey, looks like an easy solution when growing multiple seedlings.

Yeah if I can get it to work it'll be tops for clean roots.... Specially with DWC additions...

Let us know if you have a go and it works, as seedlings is something I want to get good at!

Thanks

Old and new in system!

Got new fish, thanks to Colum for recommending supplier, survival will tell tale as to whether or not a complete success, but so far price, service and delivery were all spot on. Plus got a good price on food.

Photos of DWC addition and shade cloth, cloth was a bargain at $50 for 50m, but time will tell how good of a bargain since its 50%, which may not be enough. Happy with this area until I get time to clad up, and replace pvc pipe with a more permanent structure that is sun proof. As it is temporary, "clipped" on shade cloth with cut outs of pvc, a tip I think I picked up on this forum. Either that or I'm a genius, as this was easy as, temporary, seems strong too.

Well the fish are still going strong!

Also got Growgrips in, thanks IceManDude, I need to remember to post to one of his threads saying thanks....

Two things on Growgrips (both my fault), I perhaps got excited and planted week old seedlings, thinking if roots are touching water should be fine, even though all instructions said two week old or nada, so lost a few :(. Older more established all going strong!

I also didn't put foam boards or shade cloth on quick enough, and have a lot of string algae (my name for algae that grows in long strands) which is growing on all the roots. Can anyone suggest what to do with this? Should I "clean" roots, though I am worried touching these delicate seedling roots is no good. Should I drain tank and completely clean? I have been scrubbing it off every couple days, and pulling out any bits I see, but whilst it is slowing down isn't stopping.... Thoughts?

How do they drain at the moment? Poorly haha. Currently I just have a uni seal with water going out, from the top. Plan is to do a SLO, in case of any solids as I run a chop 2 style system, and on the job list is filtration for DWC's. Will post a photo later anyways haha

Would you like some basil and Jade Perch with that latte sir?
