It was 38 down our way Bear and that was hot enough, can't imagine 42!! This tropical heat is so much different to the summers in Kalgoorlie.

We have had 46c up here mate, only thing you can do is go inside and turn the AC on for a while. Missed the storm again last night. Big front, lots of wind and lightning but very little rain. We got a bit after the main front was well past but did not turn the temperature down any. They are predicting more storms this year with little rain just the winds and lightning. Best to the family mate. Cheers

Summer is certainly here, had 42c yesterday and at the moment we are sitting on 42c again expecting to go to 44c.

The fish tanks are 28c and rising, I have the main system on constant flood and air going full time in both systems. Change the main system back to the timer after 6pm.

Placed 30% shade cloth over the front wicking beds yesterday evening but it is not helping much. Beetroot and others already wilting. Hoping the cool change comes in tomorrow.

Cricket on soon and AC already going, take care.

Wish I could send you some of our cold weather, it's below freezing here :dontknow:. Decided to put in a stock tank heater on a timer for the RAS (only on at night) and threw a heater into the greenhouse. Water temps around 4.5 C for both systems.

Hope it cools off there soon :thumbright:

The Stock tank heater is kind of an experiment. If anyone is thinking of doing this keep in mind the temp settings on some of these for turning on and off can be 15 degrees apart (fish might not be keen on this). I know you Aussies aren't thinking about this so this is for any of you US people struggling with the cold right now.

Just went and feed the fish and placed the pump and air back on the timers for the night. Tank temperature in the fish tanks was 30c. Expecting a drop over the next couple of days then hoping for some storms. Cheers

Hey Charlie, you been watching the weather back in Kal. My in laws got the pleasure of rains there last week, and brilliant thunderstorms. Been down to 7 degrees at night, and only 30 max during the day. Shall we send some over???

Have one in the freezer mate and the other two are lunch tomorrow. Slices of Oranges and lemon or lime as well as the juice then wrapped in foil and in the oven. Cut a couple of lines through the flesh both sides so the juice is sitting in the flesh. Will take a before and after shot tomorrow. Cheers

Thanks Martin, there are a few more these in the main system. The Silver Perch are also growing well but will be another 12 months before trying.

This is the after photo Bender. Just slices of lime and orange as well as the juice of extra fruit. 40 minutes at 160 c and they were cooked and very moist.
