Only as far as leaning the growbeds up against my fence.
There has been sooooo much other landscaping stuff going on it's not funny. So that has massively impeded progress.
Where I want to put Joel's system still needs to be paved, at the moment it's just dirt. Hopefully both systems will be finished by Christmas and I'll have at least enough produce to make a few salads haha :-)

OK boys and girls - pictures!
Not my hands in the pics by the way.
Now, I feel like there need to be more holes in the media guard. What do you guys think?

Yey, progress!

I'd add more slots, more water coming through is better.

I the overflow/siphon coming out below the bed? I'm curious how the setup works.

More slots, and don't be afraid to widen them too.

That's what I thought too. I didn't make it - daddy dearest got all enthusiastic.
All I wanted him to do was bring the hole-saw :-| But hey, I'm sure I can build some other bits....
Yet the holes for the uniseals still haven't been done. I dunno how he thinks sometimes... I do think that my inability to follow instructions may be genetic however. :dontknow:

There are three of these standpipes with water exiting the bed out the front of the growbed right near the bottom. One of the media guards will be bigger, and the emergency drain will be at the bottom of that, so I can semi-easily get my arm down there to unplug it.

Okey dokes - some more pictures!! Finally I have plants!!!
All that's left to do is to hook up the distribution pipe and do some minor tweaking of the standpipe levels. They're a smidge high.

So now I just need to finish planting it out, get the cladding on, and properly position all the rocks around the pond. I'm going to add some little rockery plants in between them to try and stabilize it a bit and pretty it up.
So far in the bed there are three bush beans, two tomato plants (soon to be 5) and then the test will probably be leafy greens. Although I am tempted to try some cucumbers after getting my pack in the mail (thanks Colum!)
