He said on facebook they are boston bibbs. I had to do some googling, but the closest Aussie equivalent was butterhead. But I don't think they are the same.

I found a few places in america that could sell lettuce them. I was tempted, but I wasn't quite sure.

Anybody found them in Australia? To avoid the wrath of customs?

Boston Bib is a Type of Butterhead lettuce and I'm sure there are many named varieties of Boston Bib.

I grew a variation to the butterhead but looking at the pics in comparison the australian version I used looks quite a bit different.

p.s. All looking great on the farm Ry-man. One question, do you trim the tomato roots at all during the grow period. Cheers.

Smathew-Pm me your address and you just might find some in your mailbox when I have my next big harvest!
Iceman- which one in particular? I grow about 20 types. If you put up a link to your prominent Aussie seed sight I'm sure I can find you something very similar
TC- Thanks! I'll keep an eye out for any correspondence from them
Charlie- Thanks bud. I do not trim tomato roots on my plants... I actually graft my plants and match the scion to a well suited rootstock for the application (this is where we jump out of the backyard and into upper level commercial vegetable production methods).

I haven't had the time to put up last years tomato trial results but I'll talk a bit more about the specifics as soon as I can find the time ;). I will actually be teaching my first workshop (by popular demand) here at my farm next spring which will focus on advanced methods for AP vegetable production and system desgn in a commercial context. It won't be a huge class but I am extremely excited to be able to teach my methods to people looking to take their buisness to the next level.

I'll try and get some recent pics up here soon. I've got shoots and micros coming out of my ears!

Have you posted anything anywhere about your class yet? Yours would be the first one I've ever even been tempted to attend.

Here in FL we got a bit of a cold snap, was unseasonably early but not that extreme. I'm not sure how hard it might have hit Ryan's property but in my location not too far away we didn't get anywhere near freezing, just chilly enough to put the fish off their tucker for a few days.

We were at 33 with lots of frost Wed. Earliest frost since I've lived here...27 years.

Wow....I just finished reading all 72 pages in on day!!! Crazy... Good growth. I wish you weren't so mysterious though with your methods. Glad it's working out for you. My wife and I are really depressed now with our back yard AP setup considering what your able to grow. Wish I knew the whys and how's.

I have an mineralization tank setup followed by a degassing tank before the media grow beds. Wonder if this may be part of the problem.

TC- Not yet, finishing up the web signup page over the next few days and will then
post a link :).

Bui- we got light frost outside and heavy winds on the days surrounding the cold front. All is fine here, just need to
Get going on my rocket mass heater :). The cold came about a month early this year.

OneP- 8"
Lman- glad you liked the thread but you shouldn't be discouraged because of my success in a career where I have invested tens of thousands of dollars and over a decade of my life. I continue to post pictures to inspire and encourage enthusiasts around the world.
