Very variable prices from steel tank manufacturers, Forest had a great price, over here in Perth prices have gone up for steel tanks...

Not sure if this is the best place to put these but I didn't want to start another thread (may be I should shave?)

Anyway been on the scrounge and I've found stuff.

Pic 1 is two fiberglass ~4000L Troughs that have never been used from a tannery that has closed down. Any ideas on what you would pay for them?

Pic 2 is a load of insulatoin that i'm considering for $100. I say considering beacuse there are a lot of small pieces (about 35-50cms wide offcuts) with only a few bigger pieces. Might be still worth the grab but could cause problems with the athestics minister PLus getting it back home will be tricky until I have my 13 foot tray truckon the road.

Pic 3 is something blue and something black any ideas? There are two grape bins full of them. Possibly worth buying just to get the grape bins :) Any ideas as to what they are or could be used for?

looks like good stuff, I've got no idea what you should offer for the troughs. Start sensibly... $20 for the pair

good luck :)

Dunno if you guys are aware, or whether it has even occured to you, but I thought I would mention it as some of you may consider it an issue...

The IBC's come in two different types, those for general (read chemical)use, and those made of "food-grade" plastic.

I spoke to my local distributor who sources them for the vineyards in the area about this and he was horrified when I told him that the IBC's made out of "non-food-grade" plastic will leach chemicals into their contents over time as they slowly deteriorate.

He promptly jumped onto the phone to the manufacturer (distributor?) in Melbourne whilst I was standing there, and they confirmed my information. He promised he would let all his customers know the difference.

This may not bother you guys, but the idea of chemicals leaching into my AP water and poisoning my fish and vegetables gives me the shits...

BTW....food-grade IBC's cost about $25 more than the "general" ones do.

Hope that helps.

Ray

I approached an Ebay seller direct. He has timber paletted ones now, but I want galvanised. So I'm on his waiting list.

If you’re after some let’s chat off-forum for now until I get me order filled!

Once I have I was then going to breach the topic with him of supplying other for the same price. I'm just afraid he might up the prices if demand grows due to the current price.

Aaron.

I found an IBC that's going for $290. Seems a bit to pay but they're as rare as around here. Does that price seem reasonable?

What Condition is it in? What did it have in it before? How old is it?(should have a production stamp) has it been sitting in the sun? How desparate are you for one? I think in Brissy you can get brand spanking new ones for that price so it had want to be in tip top cond.
