If it's all below ground, I'd imagine that'd be all the insulation you'd need.

During the day, it'll suck heat into the surrounding soil, at night, the pond will suck the heat back out.

Well, that's how I'd imagine it'd work anyway.

Spray foam is here. I'm recuperating from a minor surgery. I've taken this suggestion to heart. No spray foam in the pond. Thank you. I'll use the foam else where maybe around the base of the greenhouse which seems more like what it is made for.
