I recently bought one of those jeboa pumps and they did not perform as advertised.

Connected the pump up and with a TDH of 0.75m I was only getting a flow of 3000L/hr. I measured the TDH by having a clear pipe T off at the out let of the pump and the friction loss through the pipe work to the FT would have been stuff all because it was through a 100mm pipe.

So I go back to my old advice:

:funny1: Spend the extra on a Laguna and save yourself more money in the long run.

24/7 use? Or on a timer?

Pretty much, always on a timer some downtime between different projects, from ponds cycling 3-6 times, to a few different A.P set-ups of 1-5 beds to currently in a 2000 lt tank with 3 BYAP beds.
Have had others (ebara) that haven't gone the distance but this one just keeps going :dontknow:

is there a list going for pumps with a star rating? I know I sound lazy, but please understand this is a lot of information to start out with. That is where I am, at the start.

I am not sure why we have not put a re-vote able poll in the beginning. It only allows for ten entries, so we might have to limit it to just manufacturers, not model numbers. The obvious brands are Laguna, Jebao, Ebara, aquapro, tetra, and messner. Any brands anyone would like to see on the poll?

So that puts us at eight pumps. I think that I will give the option of other / I am un-voting because I am not happy with my pump.

The poll function is not that advanced. Hopefully the good pumps will shine through. Anyway, the poll is up, so feel free vote and revote as often as needed.

I have an Aquapro DW and a Jebao pumps. They are still running after 2 1/2 year. They are not expensive but not use much power. Didn't measure the flow but their flows are much more than my need.

Currently I move to solar power and using Jebao DC pump. The price/wattage and flow are similar but they can be change the speed for flow volume needed. I run low speed for continue flow and high speed on timer. They are soft start pump so it won't stress out the pump and drain low current at start up. It is a good thing for F&D timer mode.

Cheers,
Long.

Favourite brand? My favourite brand is a brand that doesn't let me down... Hard to make that call when I've only been running the current pumps for a year.
On the other hand I could name two pumps that have let me down...

Anybody got experience with this pump?

Is it a good buy or bad?

You have to be joking 5m; you either have the worst terrain or the (Try to be polite) strangest AP set up I have seen. :)

Agreed on the 5m being horrible design. I haven't calculated the proper head height on my pump, but it's good enough for me.
