So I put 7 Barra in with my Goldie's yesterday and i was just looking at an empty fish tank and wondered if anyone breeds there own feeder fish?

Also where would be a good place to buy good quality dry food south of perth?

I'm not 100% sure about barra, but feeding the barra live fish might bring out the more aggressive parts of the fish. Might end up attacking each other more? I know it was a no-no with Murray Cod.

Good shout with the aggression thing, you might be on to something there. Is sinking food better for Barra? Mine having come up of the bottom yet!

Floating is supposed to be better for keeping track of how much they are eating, and scooping off excess feed. Might get them off the bottom as well.

It was hard to get the Murray Cod to take them though, they just wanted to stay on the bottom.

I always prefer floating food but then I basically only grow trout. Much easier to see what is going on when they feed and I generally never clean out uneaten food because I only add it a bit at a time and if they are off their feed there is only a tiny amount that doesn't get eaten straight away. Feeding my fish gives me a daily check on their health and temperament.

Ye that makes a lot of sense, mine aren't of the bottom yet but I guess they will come up when there hungry. I don't think the low water temps helping, these overcast days do no favours.
