That's me heading slowly down to BKK later today and back to work :(

Progress has been made, of course having a couple of beers at lunchtime soon makes industrious intentions grind to a halt!

I've (ahem!) outsourced the trench digging to one of the wife's uncles for the 4 IBC sumps and the painting of the tanks has been given to someone else so should be straight forward enough to complete the build when I get back next.

Still a long way to go before it's anything close to some of the fabulous projects members here have,
thanks to all for inspiration and help!

Not sure what you've got in that plywood. Almost looks more like a hollow core door. Lots of sheet goods get called plywood around here - some have Medium Density Fiberboard as the core with veneer on top. MDF is heavy but stays flat and the veneers make it look better so some of these things have their uses. Still not fond of it since it's half glue. Whatever type of plywood you got, it has way too much void space for me to want to work with it.

Time for an update I reckon.
Came back to find the tanks painted and I got the IBCs cut to 35cm height, drains fitted.

BUT, the flipping monsoon weather has undone some of the good work. I'll have to break a bit of sweat to get that rectified!

Fingers crossed I'll have it running before I'm back to work mid December.

Cheers Pal!
Good to be here, I've only been at home 3.5 months the last year!
Fingers crossed there'll be no repeat in 2015!
Loi Kratong this weekend means the rainy season is 'officially' over!

Here's where I am up to now, various leaks sorted out over the last week, tonight I added the hydroton.
Funny thing is I need 9 x 50 litre bags to fill a 300 litre tank, my maths isn't that bad so draw your own conclusions!
Consequently I've ran out and will have to ask Santa for more!

I'll play about with the valves/timing etc tomorrow and take a few water tests. Back to work in a few days. Baby sitting and being a tour guide for my mum sure shortened my project time.
At least I'll get the beds with the hydroton cycling during the 7 weeks I'll be away, I might add a few of the young tilapia I've got in the pond.

Nothing unexpected.
pH 7.6
0xygen 5mg/ltr @ 24 degrees
Nitrate 20
0 for Nitrite and ammonia of course.

It's been running all day on a 15 minute on / 30 min off cycle.
Some fish to add tomorrow and that'll be it for 7 weeks.
I hope the pH will drop in that time.

Someting is growing, 2 weeks after planting.
I'm not sure what this is as I got a few photos from the wife from different beds.
I've planted pommegranate (from the fruit), melon, basil, corriander and eggplant from seeds I bought.
I can't wait to get home!
