Had two Goldie's, one helped to remind me that I forgot to put on a inlet filter cap on the pump.. The other... Natural selection applies.

Going to throw 30 or so yabbies in tomorrow

So cool watching the cod seeking out food and lazing about. They explore every nook and cranny, disappearing in the nooks and crannies I in between the rocks.

I found the Murray Cod in an advert on Gumtree, from the Aquaculture Operations Manager
Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE.

He mentioned that they have loads more and he would prefer to see them go to aquaponics people than to sit in a tank in a Chinese restaurant and suffer. So he said to make mention of them here.

I will have to check with him to see what contact info to provide for him if there are any takers out there. He seemed very knowledgeable.

My batch were all roughly 200mm long $5 ea and he threw a couple in for good measure

How do they go together? Don't fight/natural selection?

The yabbies and Cod or Cod and goldfish?

Murray cod are predatory however if well stocked the predatory nature tends to lessen. (so I am told)
The Goldfish I think will be going to the aqaurium shop tomorrow when I pick up the yabbies. They are taking an unhealthy interest in him already.

Yabbies are natural food for Murray Cod, however I am hoping those that survive should be able to take refuge in the rock cavities. The one yabby I had in a barrel did a great job of cleaning all the algae and keeping the barrel clean so I figure they can do no harm.

I think so, fingerlings average $3-4 and I need them big enough to survive random bird attacks so was very pleased to see these for sale

Did some shuffling of the plants on the wall and cleaned up a little.

Only problem with Murray Cod and yabbies... they hide
