Sorry it's been a while since my last update. Been pretty busy. Here is a quick 50 cent tour of my fish tanks and filters:

I did some playing around with an Arduino and some flow sensors and posted it to a separate thread if anyone is interested:

Been dealing with algae in the system so decided to insulate and cover the fish tanks today:

Great job and I enjoyed the videos Jeff. Those floor drains can be a pain :thumbright:. You did a good job of working around some of the problems that came up during construction. There are almost always things that crop up and have to be worked around. I've not tried the Durascrimm so it was interesting that you think it's tougher to work with than the EPDM. I'm not sure what thickness of EPDM you've worked with but 45mil would be tough to get folded like you have on those corners.

Was there a reason for your choice of Expanded Polystyrene for the Grow bed bottom insulation vs the Extruded that you used for the sides?

If I understood you correctly in the last video, the standpipe is causing splashing and making noise? If that's right then widening the inlet at the top with a PVC reducer coupling might take care of most of that (I'm not certain this will do it but pretty sure). If you try it, let me know how it works out.

Cheers

I used 3/4" for the bottom and 1/2" for the sides. They didn't have any 3/4" extruded at the time.

Actually, I get a bit of a siphon, and when it breaks it splashes.
