Hello, I just started up my first aquaponics setup, a small indoor system and have a mix of plants including some cuttings. Now after two weeks of cycling the stems have developed some white fungus at their bases where they emerge from the media. Any fallen leaves have also picked up fungus as well. Any ideas about what it could be and whether it's harmful?

Thanks for any insight

It looks like the surface of the media is very wet, this has caused the fungus/rot at the surface level you may very well find the roots will have suffered as well, try dropping the water level between 25 to 50 mm below the surface.

Thanks for the help. I added another couple cm of media and the fungus went away. Already have a flood and drain system but probably was too shallow
