If I recall, Ryan is allergic to prawns... So if someone ate them, it was not him.

Quick update...

Things have been busy but going great down here in Fl. The farm is still producing strong and we are finally getting back into our cooler months wich makes growing a whole lot easier (harvested 400 heads of tight Bibb yesterday).

I've got about 20,000 tomatoes hanging from the vines and another set of heirloom varieties just popping up. Lots of kale, chard and other specialty greens getting bigger, mini cukes doing awesome and some new micro green tables coming on line this weekend.

I have a new 9k gal RAS circulating right now and am finally setting up a proper tilapia hatchery in my fish building (built a new wing to move equipment storage further away and bring more fish in).

Applying for a permit for an AUSSIE FISH SPECIES next week!! ;).

When all was said and done, I nearly doubled my previous years salary from this years farm profits (not including consults, speaking etc)...don't let people tell you this can't be done as a buisness. Key word... It's a buisness. If you are confident in your buisness/marketing skills as well as your growing ability then this is a real world career option but you have to go in with confidence, not hesitation.

I've got some really cool projects going on right now on the consulting side of things but have NDAs signed so can't say too much until they are further along. Key word- BIG

Hoping to hire my first full time employee this year

I've got a million other things going on and it would probably take me another hour to type them all out on my phone but I will try to get back on tonight and follow up. Keep at it everyone!

(and Chris- no prawn but I found a few fancy goldfish when cleaning them out... Guessing they must have gotten in and probably ate all the Pl's when I put them in)

Congrats Ryan. So cool that you can do what you love to do and are passionate about and make money at the same time. Lots of work, but's it's paying off. Look forward to hear about the new RAS and the new consulting project. Try and keep it affordable, so i can come.(:

Hi Ryan
I was intrigued by a reference you made in a previous post to salt water aquaponics.
As I understand it was a friend , who was involved, and very cutting edge.
High value products will I think lead the market.
I was in Galica in Northern Spain recently.
“Percebes” or ‘Goose Barnacles’ are a local delicacy and very expensive.
They are harvested, at the surf line, by people on ropes hanging over the cliff. Very dangerous and hence the price tag.
Google says they are also eaten in California.
I am probably telling you something you already know but thought I would pass it on.
A small return on the knowledge you have shared.
Thank you
Titus

There are some things even a pirate won't eat... Besides, somehow I never run out of seagulls.
