Hi there, second topic.

Having a small issue with lighting and need help answering a few questions. A single-bulb 4' florescent lights, like this one: http://www.horticulturesource.com/grow- ... ft-p19902/ :dontknow:

Is it powerful enough to light two 'lines' of plants located next to (parallel to) each other? I tried finding online exactly what the recommended height from plants might be but I couldn't find anything, if anyone has a reference I could follow that would help me out a lot.

I need to add lights because some of my seedlings have become leggy and are trying to stay alive and obviously too far from the light. Here is an image. The man who helped me build this promised the lights be enough for both planters but he was wrong(and stopped answering any of our calls and messages...?)

So as you can see I have improvised and tied the lights in places to lower them closer to the bottom planters while still getting light to the top- as a temporary solution. keeping it like this will end up ruining my plans because i have snappeas growing and need to keep raising the light. SO....

I was thinking about getting a 4' SINGLE-STRIP T5 light to go across the space in between. I would also be able to add many more plants in the back when the resources are sufficient. By "in the back" I mean towards the wall, I could build a cascading planter or something- take water from the lines to the left and right and..... haha the gears are a movin' :D Do these lights work well?
Maybe having two single-strip lights next to eachother? (Or if I could find a double-strip 4'?)

I can't afford any of those beautiful hundred dollar lights or anything, the two shown were part of the original purchase. So I am trying to save some money and figure this out- I love this hobby and LIFESTYLE so much and refuse to let my plants die! :P

Thanks for the input
Connor.

Are you doing all indoor lighting? or supplementing with the suns light?
For t5`s the general rule of thumb is 90+watts per 2.5`x2.5` of grow space with about 5-8" of space between plants and lights (or the hand test: if it feels hot on your hand, its too hot for the plants so adjust accordingly)
