Stunning!
You can tell it's going to age beautifully with a bit of green over the rocks and fish laziness around in there. It will be fabulous.

Drama, it appears that I have a leak at the bottom of the pond!

I am going to have to pull the rocks out ( all of them as they stack on top of each other) and go searching for the leak.
Bugger...

This coupled with an attack of kidney stones has halted progress alas. I am thinking of hiring some laborers to pull all the rocks out as my capacity at present is limited. Unless there be some volunteers here!

In other news I picked up Sylvia Bernsteins "Aquaponic Gardening" to read while writhing in agony. Has some interesting chapters and she cites this forum. Is she a member of the forum?

On the upside the maple seems to have survived the transplant and is breaking buds like crazy

This is unusual, in that leaks usually occur immediately - not after a few weeks of being filled. I will give you a call later today and see if we can get to the bottom of it.
If there has been damage done by a falling rock, at least the liner can be easily repaired in situ, and hopefully with a minimum amount of rock removal.

Thanks Chris, appreciate this.
I fear that the weight of the waterfall, which I built last pushed down extra load on something sharp in the bottom of the the pond. I neglected to (forgot to) put in a 100mm sand base at the bottom (as you recommended). This may be the cause. The water drop started after I built up rocks for the waterfall feature..

Finding leaks is always painful. I'm guessing a rock did it, they have some pointy edges.

Chris, do you have any tricky hole finding methods?

Think I have it sorted. 3 pin holes and one 4mm hole right at the bottom. Patched and holding now for 14 hours. Fingers and toes crossed

Still no drop in water level. Looking forward to the weekend to get a wriggle on with this.
