Sikpuppy65,
I feed the trout a commercial feed from the Backyard Aquaponics shop in Perth.
They do get fed extras such as any caterpillars i find around the place and I collect a container of earthworms when I visit the inlaws for them.
Some people feed Black Soldier Fly Larvae to their fish. I will look at making a BSF drum in the future.

Thanks Cookie.
1000L tank
500L growbed with clay balls
approx 100L blue barrel with bluemetal
approx 100L blue barrel with filter pads
approx 850L DWC bed

So around 2000L water in the system roughly

25 Rainbow trout
5 Silver perch (I think. Rarely see them)

Went for a short holiday to Bali for 8 days and come back to a jungle. Fish were fed lightly every second day just in case something went wrong but the plants didn't mind that one bit.
Fish are getting to a decent size now too. Will try upload a vid of them another day
Lettuce and pak choi overload.

Have eaten a nice iceberg lettuce from here

The main bed. Plenty went to flower. Time for a cull.

Tidied up part of the DWC bed and planting strawberries

Rob,

If you don't mind. Where did you source your Styrene from?

Hey Dr Bee.

I got it from Polystyrene Central.
They are unit 1, 89 Albert Road.
9721 3348

I gave them the exact measurements and they cut to size for me.

Cheers Rob.

I've got one blue barrel, and thinking of doing the same with one cut long ways.

Trout for lunch today!

Image

Garlic, parsley, butter and lemon, salt and pepper. Baked in the oven for 20 mins.
Delicious!!

I let the ph get a bit too low in the system so I am gradually bringing it back up with Eco Fungicide. It was down to 6. Currently sitting at 6.4 now.
I noticed things weren't growing too well. Maybe due to the ph? Strawberries are growing great, but they like it slightly acidic.
