Thanks Ryan. I know, I screwed up in the original design...needed more FT. less grow area. I think with my new 55 gallon netting and bioball filter, I should be OK on filtration. Will monitor levels and keep on feeding what they will eat in 5 minutes.

Have almost doubled my feed in the past 2 weeks. Nitrates are visible(under 5, but some color), growth is much better, Ammonia is still at .25. trying to feed 4-5 times per day and make sure that they eat all feed. Thanks!

i realize that your ammonia problem may not be a cause of feeding amounts but may be a cause of fish amounts within
your system.. with or without food fishes still excret ammonia as 'urine'. think about if you under stock your fish amount and still fell the same amount. majority of your ammonia will be within the solids because the fish will excret what it cannot absorbe but with higher density with same feed amount... most of the ammonia is in the liquid phase as urine which directly influence your ammonia load. ammonia in solids are a bit slower on the release into the system.

That is a very high feeding rate... I have over 385ft2 of growing area and I feed about 150g/day with excellent growth. All the studies on feed are interesting to me. I will be doing my own feed study in the next coming months. Could you send a link to that Arizona feed manuscript by chance?
