The beautiful thing here is that you've forced them to (kinda) barrack for the Wallabies, which mustn't be too fun for them. :laughing3:
I had a few Kiwi workmates who love it when the All Blacks beat the Wallabies. Bothers them awfully when I tell them that there's no shame losing a game of Union to the All Blacks.
But when Oz wins a game against NZ, that's another thing entirely. I'm just no fun to heckle at all apparently. :dontknow:

So far the AP setup has been virtually maintenance free so I decided to set up some self watering pots to amuse myself. Just 250mm pots in buckets for tomato and capsicum since I don't want plants in the GB that take a long time to yield at this stage. The size of the plants and their invasive roots are also part of my hesitation in growing them in my single GB. When I add a few GBs I'll probably grow them in AP since there will be plenty of room then.
I'll make up some more pots for strawberries soon too since they can't grow in my salted system.
There isn't much to show but here are some pics anyway.
Basically the pots are above the shallow reservoir and I have two chux cloths as wicks for the trial. I've used them in the past but only on smaller pots for herbs, we'll see how they go for more demanding plants.

Here they are in the buckets, I had to use the lids still to make the pots fit and cut out a hole to suit.
In hindsight I could have cut a smaller hole to allow a deeper reservoir, maybe next time...

Nice going Bodge.

I'm still reeling from the last minute loss to the Wallabies. Those bloody Aussies. :D
Still surprised at how shaky we are for large parts of each match. Not looking forward to the Boks playing the All Blacks this weekend.

Regards, Martin.

Us Aussies got lucky, it was pretty weak sending off Habana!

I'm worried about Argentina for us!

You're very generous in your comments about our performance. You have to face Argentina, we have to face the All Blacks in Wellington. I reckon you're got a better chance of having a good weekend than we do!

Touché... But if you lose it's not unexpected and (unfortunately) more of the same ATM. However if we lose.... Well it's better left unsaid the reaction from press/fans/kiwis/boks etc! I am actually fairly concerned!

I feel for you Dude... they're going to give it to you if the All Blacks come through. They're a pretty hard team to beat and all credit to them I say. (I save my spirit for State of Origin  )

I'm amazed by the growth in my plants in seven days.
I'll repost a pic from 7 days ago and then one from today. I tried to get the same angle on the updated pic.
Some kind of crazy magic happening out there.
(Don't know why the phone decided to take a smaller pic this time)
I'll start harvesting until I get a more reasonably spacing but it's eye opening to see plants spaced so ridiculously close together thriving.
AP? Yep, I'm sold on it. 8)
I also noticed a few tiny leaf mining grubs of some sort on the kale and dealt with them. So I'm guessing the insect plagues will soon strike along with the warmer weather we're having.

I had to check the date on the earlier pic to make sure I hadn't just posted it late.
From when I first saw any germination to the first pic was around 5 weeks.
Then one week between pics.
It's madness I say! :D
Very stoked all round. My brother saw it on Sunday after not seeing it for a fortnight and his blinking, surprised reaction was the first time I realised it was going so well. Don't get me wrong, I was very happy with it but the growth snuck up on me. And it isn't even in full sun!

The water is nice and clean again and the three bream are still doing well.
Except for the pump problems early in the piece I've been really lucky so far with everything.
Very happy Chappy right now.

Nice going Bodge!

Is State of Origin, NRL or Aussie Rules? I have been watching some NRL since I got here and I am enjoying it but I don't know the teams. Aussie rules seems like a strange sport, don't really get it yet.

Yeah Bcasey if you guys lose the the Argies it will be interesting but it will be a surprise to me. I don't know, you just drew the ABs and then beat the Boks, not sure if you will lose to them.

Is it a bad thing that I was happy enough just to get a tied score against the All Blacks? :dontknow: At least it broke their winning streak. That'll do me.

State of Origin is NRL.
It's a three game series "grudge match" between Queensland and NSW. Pretty much the only sport I care about. (I might get a bit irritating that time of year... And I do tend to be the one to resurrect the thread most times. )

AFL used to have a SOO, back in the days of mud pitches and the competition only including Melbourne based teams, but now it is a national competition with teams spread across most of the nation, the SOO concept has fallen away.

The Rugby League SOO started before teams outside Sydney entered the comp. Fortunately the players still want to represent their (home?) states.

Makes it easier for NRL, that only two states are in the comp, whereas in AFL, all states want to be represented.
