Should I start a new thread about paint bag filters? Now that the post has been hijacked?

This is a new idea for me and has already helped a few, except the old cranky few and a few sheep that follow them?

1 why not try something different?

2 will it hurt anyone trying this new idea?

3 how much will it cost you? That is up to you! I supply the idea, you determine the parts! I am not after any money for the idea?

4 this could actually work in your system as good as it works in mine?

Look I have not commented directly on this thread for a number of reasons.

Believe it or not but I like both mechanical and non media bed biological filtration, there are a number of reasons for using them.
I have had, to put it politely, a few disagreements with certain members of this forum on the "rules" ( that is the way everyone is told it it should be done).

However, as a new member, you should at least respect their opinion and be polite (I sometimes forget that rule :) ) If you want to be credible you should demonstrate that it works; either with a reasoned and proven scientific approach or from a longer term, I have done it and these are the results.

You live in Gosnells, I assume, your winter temps will be about 2c below Perth temps and your Summer temps will be about 2c above Perth temps. You will have a hard time holding the system stable without a lot of work and thought, personally I would concentrate on that but that is only imho. :)

Well thanks for your input Sleepe,
All is going good, plants are loving it, even though I have partial shade ATM on the grow beds, but that is changing everyday, I will be putting shade cloth over the gbs before it gets too hot,

Yep my system is new, six weeks or so, but I have nitrates and nitrites working just fine ATM, with a buffer of 4KH, PH 7.4/7.6, ammonia 0,

It’s a split flow, chift spist2b system, and it has two filters? In just so little time,

Would you like me to come back in six months an tell you how I did it?

Alls good, its my new hobby and I don’t mind a little help! And constructive criticism, I am new at this but I think I have worked it out? But if you would like to add advice I would be happy to take it onboard,

Cheers!
:D
