Cool, thanks folks. It's interesting seeing the growth rates others are getting, gives me a bit of a base line to compare to for when I pull mine out.

Azira, be warned - comparison is the greatest source of unhappiness.

Duly noted.

I'm not striving for massive fish, I have no real desire to cram my fish full of food and make them all flabby (I do that enough to myself, lol). If any of them come out looking like benders or samrotas I'll be chuffed. :)

How are peoples trout in Perth going? Mine have gone of their feed over the last few days - no nitrite or ammonia reading, ph about 6.5, temp about 16 - though it may be going higher during the day - only see it early morning and late evening.

Have been trying to push more food into them over the last week (up to 150g for 20 trout per day), so maybe I overfed them (if that's possible with trout?). Caught one and it looks healthy, though got a fair bit more growing to do - when is it normally game over time in Perth for trout?

Have put more aeration in to tank as a precaution.... as the SP sharing the same water are happily chowing down still.

Matt, that is a LOT of food per trout per day! My advice is to go easy with the tucker until they are smashing it again.

My water temps are ranging from 12 to 18 in Perth and I'm feeding them three times a day and they still want more.

Yeah, thought it may be a little high, though works out to 7g per trout, which if the trout are 300g is 2.3%. I'll ease off on them for a bit :) They've still got a bit more growing to do!

At a 3% feeding rate that would mean the trout would be about 250g ea :dontknow:

At a 1% feeding rate that would mean the trout would be about 750g :thumbright:

I'm guessing the former is more likely :dontknow:

Biggest Rainbow so far is 33cm and 500g. Looks like I wont reach 1kg by the end of the season. I was hoping for a kilo fish this year. Only have 2 months left, maybe?

I'm a bit worried about the 32 degree forecast on Saturday while I'm away for the weekend!
