These are what I intend to use commercially. The trick is getting the moisture and temperature right.

Is Ipswich in Brisbane? If so then postage shouldn't be too bad.

The sheets are 10" x 20" and about 1.5" tall.

Essentially a suburb of Brisbane. I'll have a look at postage on Monday/Tuesday. In terms of me being new to growing from seed, is this a good option in your opinion?

Ok, so no pics (which I know means it doesn't count!), but just updating those who are following my humble little escapades.

- lawyer has ticked off on me to sign contract, so hopefully get keys tomorrow. Their goes my life! Luckily Aquaponics will be integrated "for business reasons", so I get to keep my hobby (read obsession)!
- bought 10 goldfish yesterday. Having no luck catching fish with cold weather, and they were like the budgie, they were CHEEP, and want to have system ticking over at least a little. They seem happy.
- We had 40mm+ of rain last night, will be interesting to do a test on water tonight
- Scrubbed out sump Friday as it was getting some algae (I haven't done covers/cladding for sump or FT, as when I move all that will change, so will do covers then), and my worm farm filter seems to have picked it all up. Which is tops
- Might buy some BIO Balls for filter today, not that I think I need them as I will have plenty of GB, but I think I will be moving system in week or two, and if it can help give me stability with the move, as a filter can be moved in 20 min, whereas a GB will take a bit more, and it might see me keep more of my good bacteria survive
- did up a garlic, chilli, seasol, water and two drops of dishwashing detergent (a more natural one), and sprayed aphids. Aphids be gone! Chucked em all in a vitamix (quite an interesting smell), and am letting it steep for a few days before straining and using as a spray. I am almost concerned it worked too well, as my bug problem has fixed itself over night. Hmmm :dontknow:
- And I ran across cheap foam yesterday, am going to have a crack at making a vertical grow tower x2. Budget is about $20 each for a metre each. Don't know why but I just really like the idea of grow towers, so it's something I want to have a crack with, regardless of need or suitability a haha.

Anyway I am off to visit Rob Bob (of Bit's Out the Back fame) for a pick his brain session, grab some uniseals, and have a general sticky beak as he has done some rejigging. He's a real nice bloke and has a spectacular setup in his yard, including dirt, wicking, aquaponics and aquaculture, so I just like having a look. .

Will post some photos today if I pull finger out and have a crack at vertical towers.

Congratulations.

Ahaha yeah I am trying to scrounge up all old receipts so I can claim those too, I am not good with receipts for personal stuff, which is funny cause I have always been manic about it in regards to work.

Find somone to "sell" it to you.

Stuff bought from garage sales can be claimed just not the GST component.

Yeah I am already thinking about that. Housemate has agreed if necessary!

Got distracted at Rob Bob's place today, didn't get much done, and night time pics aren't much chop. Bit cranky as I don't have any 25mm pipe left for my venturi design, even though I thought I had heaps. I know they aren't much chop Stu, but one of those things I just like!

Was going to replumb for vertical towed, but woke up to myself and realised I am about to move entire system, so will wait until I have moved for this, even though I haven't designed any space for towers, which sucks, cause once again I just like them.

I am pretty excited to be expanding at cafe, reckon I have a real good design (aesthetically for the design of cafe anyways), and can't wait for more grow beds. Design has sump in the ground though, not looking forward to digging that sucker! Though I think I will fit in more on this forum, everyone seems to have at least one hole digging page on each of their threads a haha

Thanks

Congrats in the go-ahead for the contract. Exciting times ahead!
Scribble us a drawing of your plans for the cafe system when you've got a spare moment, can't wait to see them :-)

I have posted this in another thread, to get better coverage.

So question which I think is appropriate for this thread.

I am setting a new system (same system as current just moving). Trying to start my design. In terms of F&D returns, is there some logic to what it needs to be? I currently just run each back to sump in 25mm. But that will be extra plumbing, much easier if I could run all beds to a main drain. So what size drain will I need for up to 7 GB's if I have 25mm drain pipes. I am assuming I will need capacity for when all drain at once, so 200mm? Or because they all won't be draining at one point, but entering drain point about 3m apart will it e ok with something like 150mm. Does this make sense or do I need to do a diagram? Another way to ask it might be what's best way to plumb 5-7 grow beds in a straight line spread out over 18m back to sump?

I can get access to 100mm pipe, about 24 m if I get it in next 24 hours for nothing, and I currently have 7m of 150mm, and I have heaps of 50mm

I have produce! I've had Kale for a bit, but that's a Tad boring, but having grown mostly herbs and tomatoes in dirt previously, these are things I haven't grown before!

So cool! Excuse my enthusiasm those who have been there done that, this part of AP is new to me! Ok so it's not ready yet, but I grew that!

One of the goldfish saying hello at my window. Little bugger wouldn't come higher which would have made it clearer, as he was in the part of the window I can't reach easily so it's got algae.
