Hi All,

I look forward to talking with you all and hopefully learning the best (better) way to do things before I set out on my first build.

Welcome to the forum.

Do you need a greenhouse or poly tunnel in Brisbane? I thought the weather was pretty mild, in the extremes I mean.

Hi and welcome to the forum!
What are you thinking for your build? Shop kit, IBCs, blue barrels or a lined timber growbed? Or something else entirely?
The IBC of Aquaponics is probably a good first stop, no matter your intentions. It's a free download on the BYAP site :-)

My system is new and still not finished, but it's a very simple set up - no sump, just a gravel bed and a nice big pond, and I'm already thinking about another system. This hobby is ADDICTIVE! You will no doubt find the same. I only point it out because it pays to future-proof your system by sizing your pump and pipe work etc to cater to expansions down the track.

There are quite a few members in QLD who I'm sure can give you some local advice on fish and plants.

Best of luck!

Very very addictive, as Katmac says. I'm in Ipswich, a couple months into the madhouse! Check out Rob Bob on Facebook, he's a king at growing in this region, be it AP or general gardening.

That's the Facebook page, or look up "Bits Out The Back on YouTube, plenty of great videos!

Attached is a quick sketch from my phone.

Here's what I thinking. 1x Flood and drain bed and 1 xconstant flow for the other. Sump. Fish tank. Swirl amd bio filter.

I'm thinking i will need cover from the rain as we're entering the wets here and I figure it will pay worth the levels to much. Will also be handy to trow shade over in summer.

I will be using ibc for the fish and sump and building 2x 500ltr beds.

Love to hear your thoughts. I'm here to learn before I builds

I've been following bits out the back for yonks. I've met with Murry Halen too :D. And I intend on building the grow beds with timber and pond liner.

Any you tube channels you can recommend would be great.
