So I have a 2nd ibc that I want to add as a 2nd fish tank as a fingerling tank and to add extra system volume as a fudge factor. I am thinking of pumping from the sump to both tanks, then over flowing via a SLO from the fingerling tank, there shouldn't be much in the way of solids from the fingerling tank but I was thinking that the extra aeration might be a bonus in the main tank and also save some plumbing.
What do you guys think?

No one told me about slits :dontknow: I ground the edge down a bit to help get it started and when I still couldn't get it I heated it up with the heat gun.
My main problem was that the IBC wall kept flexing and the seal would pop through before I could get the pipe started, in the end I put my two kids in the tank to push against the wall and stop it flexing.
I have been using vasoline as lube.
I've got the fingerling tank and the new pump pretty much all plumbed up, I'll take some pics tomorrow it was getting to dark by the time I finished up this arvo.

Next item is more sump space so I can add more grow beds. :headbang:

Yep the wall flex's but with longer slits (50mm) then it goes in easily with knee or a bang - it's the initial starting part - then with lube the next part is easy - scoria water colour?

Yeah That's my chocolate milk scoria system water and that's after diluting it with another 1000 lt yesterday, it may clear up in time for me to add more beds, lol!
I'm thinking of planting Co co pops, they should grow nice in chocolate milk!

I never even thought of cutting slits in the pipe, I'll have to tuck that nugget away for next time. Thanks Jay :thumbleft:

I tried the egg whites but it didn't really seem to help, I might throw some cotton wool in a sock.
I am getting pretty keen to put some fish in but dont wanna miss a dead fish and push for a HSM.

Well now it seems I have some leaks in the plumbing from the pump, I think I have to much water going through that 20mm pipe, I think I might have to put in a tee and run some back to the sump. :support:
Until I can spare a few bucks and up the pipe size, what would people recommend for a 5000 lph pump?
